The hostel is situated right by the main road going through the Teișani commune, and next to several useful places, like stores and public transport. You don’t need to walk a lot to get to a bus stop that connects the area to the bigger town of Valenii de Munte. And if you need to go somewhere else, you are 40 minutes from a train station (if you want to go to Ploiești, Bucharest, Maneciu or other places that can be reached from those two stations), and another bus stop (to Valenii de Munte, Schiulești and Maneciu).
Nearby there are also places where you can enjoy nature and go for hikes - the most well known is Vârful Pӑrului, the highest point of Teișani, with 600m, where you can find a pear tree that can be seen from places all around Teişani, and admire the view over Olteni and the Teleajen valley. There are also other hiking paths and places to visit and hang out in, like the trail that goes through nearby fields, near german radar bases and the old trail station.
If you prefer to stay inside, you can enjoy the spacious living room, where you can watch TV or socialize with other young people staying at the hostel. There is also wi-fi accessible throughout the hostel, …..You’ll be comfortable inside because there is a central heating system. If you want to spend time with other people you also have a big dining room where you can have meals together (and maybe learn some new recipes), and a big yard where you can just hang out but where you also find good conditions to have a barbecue.
This hostel has all of the conditions for you to stay for as long as you want. You have the conditions to stay at the hostel for as long as you want. You can prepare and store your own food in the hostel kitchen. After your meal you can clean the dishes immediately or put them in the dishwasher. You can also wash your clothes at the hostel. And if you need anything that you didn’t bring with you, there are several stores near the hostel (including a La Doi Pași, where you can pay with card if you prefer) and a restaurant/bar where you can buy pizza and eat and drink on a terrace.
WHY A HOSTEL?
Hostels allow you to book a bed in a shared room instead of only booking a whole room for yourself, as you would do at a hotel. Because of this, and because of all the other shared spaces, your stay is cheaper than staying in most hotels. Plus, you get to meet a lot of other young people/travelers. You also have some more liberty to do what you want in certain aspects - you can bring and cook your own food, for example, and are generally more responsible for what you do.
The community around a hostel is important too. Hostels are often run by locals, and can also organize tours through the local area and promote local businesses, helping to develop a certain area and giving tourists a different, more informed view of the place they’re visiting.
